Finnair

The number of Finnair Plus points earned depends on the distance between the points of embarkation and arrival, on the minimum specified number of points, and on the booking class.

There are several booking classes for business and tourist class tickets, depending on various factors such as the price of the ticket, the time of booking, and whether the booking can be changed. 25 to 50 per cent of the normal tourist class points total is granted for certain booking classes, while double points are granted for business class flights. Certain scheduled flights earn fixed numbers of Finnair Plus points, which are not based on the distance flown.

Code-share flights

Finnair Plus members can earn points from flights to hundreds of destinations. To optimise the range of available flight destinations, departures and services, Finnair has concluded several commercial code-share agreements with other airlines. Many of these airlines are not otherwise partners of Finnair. Jointly operated flights always have two flight numbers, the Finnair (AY) number and the flight number of the partner airline. If your ticket has been issued in the Finnair quota, meaning that it bears an AY code, then Finnair Plus points will be awarded for the flight according to the normal table of points earned.

Transactions older than six months are not registered to your member account retroactively. Point accumulation is possible only when your membership is valid at the time of travelling. By logging in you can add missing points for scheduled Finnair flights (AY-code and ticket number beginning with 105) yourself only after three weeks after your flight.

However, check first if the booking class written on your ticket entitles you for Plus points.
